IMS has received a number of industry awards and recognition for its technology performance and work environment during the past few years.  Among the most notable are the 2001 Compass Award, designation as one of the Top 50 Employers in Canada and a Finalist for the 2001 Enterprise Technology Award.

2001 Compass Data Center of the Year

In May 2002, IMS was named winner of the 2001 Compass Data Center of the Year award for top performance in data center efficiency.  Presented annually since 1989 by Compass America, a management consulting firm, the award is based on objective measurements of productivity and quality, costs, and service in various categories of Information Technology operations.  Past winners of the Compass America Data Center of the Year Award include Mobil Oil, The Kemper Companies, and Southern Company.

“IMS gained distinction in a highly competitive data center environment where costs are declining by an average of 15 to 20 percent a year,” said John Kopeck, president of Compass America.  “This success demonstrates the commitment of IMS to excellence and continuous improvement in technology, while at the same time reducing overall data center costs.”

According to Compass America, IMS’ 2001 rating is the best score awarded by them in the 12 years it has been benchmarking data center performance.   The year 2001 reference group, to which IMS was compared were five top-performing companies, similar in size based upon mainframe processing capacity.  IMS’ competitors consisted of three financial services companies, one pharmaceutical company, and a major federal government agency.

IMS Health Canada Named Top Employer in 2001

In December 2001, IMS Health Canada was designated one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, from a pool of more than 40,000 companies.   The Company was also selected as one of the “50 Best Companies to Work For” by the Toronto-based Globe & Mail’s Business Report magazine.

IMS Recognized by Eastern Technology Council for  its 2001 Enterprise Award

IMS was selected by the Eastern Technology Council as one of three finalists for the 2001 Enterprise Award by. The council noted that IMS had received the designation by demonstrating to independent auditor, PriceWaterHouseCoopers, its excellence in market leadership in the technology arena, year-over-year profitability, employment growth and executive direction and leadership.

The Eastern Technology Council consists of more than 1,200 members representing technology-based companies from every business sector between New York City and Washington DC. Each November, companies vie for the chance to be recognized for the Council’s Enterprise Awards.
