The principal goal of our internal training and management development programs is to provide our employees with the tools necessary to achieve their career goals and insure that leadership positions are filled from within.

Our training and development efforts begin on the first day of employment, and extend throughout an employee’s career at IMS.
An employee’s first year in a new company presents a host of challenges and exciting opportunities. Our new employee orientation program consists of:
- New Employee Orientation Program: provides the information you need on your first day.
- IMS Leader Welcome: provides information on the history and values of the company and is delivered by an IMS functional leader. (Offered in Totowa and Plymouth Meeting)
- Introduction to IMS Products and Services: builds familiarity with our business solutions.
- President’s Breakfast: meet IMS corporate leaders and learn about key company strategies and objectives.
During the year, new and existing IMS employees are eligible to attend a variety of sessions, hosted by IMS managers from a variety of business units as well as by our training department professionals. Among these are:
- Meetings and Brown Bag Information Sessions: introduce you to key individuals and important initiatives.
- HR 100 The Employee Role in Performance Conversations: provides individual contributors with an understanding of the IMS Performance Management Process and the IMS compensation philosophy
- Law 100 Harassment Prevention Employee Rights and Responsibilities: introduces the company’s anti-harassment policy and informs employees of their rights and responsibilities in this area
In-depth managerial and professional growth courses along with employee training in IMS’ solutions and software applications are also a major element of the company’s active employee development philosophy. Examples of available programs include:

Management Certification Curriculum, a nine course, cohort group program that builds understanding of IMS managerial practices for individuals who manage others. Among the topics covered are performance counseling, compensation philosophy, behavioral interviewing and effective performance conversations.

Training and Performance Support Services provide employees with an extensive array of courses centered on developing job-related analytical skills by using real-world exercises, case studies and simulations. Our TPSS group also trains employees in the use of our proprietary data, software applications and pharmaceutical industry services.
