The group conducts market research for new product initiatives, and promotes organizational learning through the communication of the latest client, competitor, and key market trends. Client Services – The Client Services department's mission is to assist customers in extracting the maximum value from the products and services they purchase from IMS. The group's first duty is to perform individual client training, provide complex inquiry support, share best practices, run ad-hoc requests, and manage client specific projects. Their second duty is to share product expertise and knowledge, assist with problem resolution, consult on data utility and functionality, interpret product notices, and communicate impact to customer. The third role of Client Services is to collect report requirements, process changes, code specifications into system, verify report output, set-up new reports, and schedule and process client inputs. Data & Information – The Data Management group is an integral partner in supporting IMS clients by ensuring the reporting databases are accurate, complete, and available according to schedule. This is accomplished by creating and maintaining the most accurate reference data, ensuring the timely receipt and processing of supplier data, and certifying the quality and completeness of the reporting databases. Global Product Development – The Global Product Development (GPD) team designs and develops innovative technology based business solutions for use by IMS clients around the world. GPD carries out various research and development activities to identify and examine technologies that can be used to develop future products. The GPD team is based in the U.S., U.K., and Frankfurt, Germany, and works with IMS local offices around the world. Global Data Center – The Global Data Center is the company’s main computing center for North American and European operations. The team performs various activities on a continual basis on such platforms as Mainframe, UNIX, LAN, Workstations and Helpdesk. Testing, installation, and support of hardware and software on all of the platforms are performed regularly in order to maintain an efficient operating environment for IMS. The Systems Support Team (Helpdesk) provides round-the-clock worldwide support as well as monitoring all the key company Websites to ensure customer satisfaction. Marketing - The Marketing department is responsible for the development and on-going lifecycle support of the IMS product portfolio. Production - The objectives of the Production department are to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of IMS data and information, manage the company production delivery cycle process, and develop a production environment that resolves complex system dependencies. The department is organized around six main areas: Production Delivery Services, Production Enhancement Services, Production Support Services, Change Management, Web Security Services, and Consulting Systems Integration. Sales - The role of the IMS Sales department is to develop relationships with key executives and decision makers within assigned accounts and identify areas of opportunities to increase revenue and/or to strengthen IMS' market position. Each Sales person plays a lead role in the development of account strategy to maximize company potential within our client base. In addition, one must be able to effectively consult with customers on their business issues, and create innovative solutions using the full capabilities of IMS. Statistical Services – The Statistical Services Department at IMS develops healthcare applications that involve the use of sampling statistics, advanced analytics and patient analytics. The department is extensively involved in prototyping and developing specifications for new services and in providing statistical support for existing services, for example by developing statistical process control procedures and by determining recruitment priorities. Most of our statistical programming work is carried out in SAS; a widely used statistical programming language, and we actively participates in the local and national SAS users groups.
