Nigel Burrows is a Principal in the Performance and Promotion Management practice for IMS Global Consulting. In this role he supports clients in developing pre and post-launch strategies, particularly in the area of oncology, to ensure maximum product penetration into the marketplace.  Burrows’ experience in new product and portfolio development research covers a broad range of therapy areas across the specialist and GP markets in over 30 countries.

Prior to joining IMS, Burrows worked for more than 20 years conducting market research for agencies specializing in the medical and pharmaceutical industries.  He also spent five years at Taylor Nelson, a market research and information group, where he played an integral role in the establishment of the international healthcare division.  In 1987, Burrows joined PiTRE in Milan, Italy, where he covered many functions within the agency on both domestic and international levels. In 2004, PiTRE was acquired by IMS and Burrows was responsible for integrating PiTRE’s range of proprietary primary market research solutions into IMS Health’s current capabilities.

Burrows is a regular lecturer and an award-winning presenter.  He has presented papers at the once named BPMRG conferences in the UK, IPMRG (now PBIRG) conferences in the US, at many EphMRA/ESOMAR congresses and workshops, and at industry meetings in Europe and Japan. He is an active member of the EphMRA conference program committee and regular contributor to the organization’s newsletter.

Burrows has a Master’s degree in Experimental Psychology with a special interest in Psycholinguistics from Cambridge University.
